In the battle against Miboshi, the Suzaku forces are able to initially defeat the original body of Miboshi. However, Miboshi's spirit takes over Chiriko's body at a moment of distraction. Chiriko then proceeds to attack the Seishi until Miaka's protests reach Chiriko; Chiriko is then able to kill himself in order to save the Suzaku Seishi.
