Tamahome leaves with Miaka and Nuriko to tell Tamahome's family that Hotohori has granted the family permission to live in the castle. Tamahome happily visits with gifts for the family (including a doll for Yuiren) but is stunned beyond belief when he sees his family horribly murdered and dead on the floor.
