Miaka and company are preparing for the trip to recover the Shinzaho in Hokkan to the north. While walking around the shipyard, Tamahome notices that Tasuki is hiding behind a tree, as if he was afraid of the ship or the water. Tamahome creeps up to Tasuki and asks "What are you doing?" Tasuki, obviously surprised, jolts up and nervously answers that he wasn't doing anything. Obviously doubting Tasuki, Tamahome comments that Tasuki is probably a hammer (afraid of water). Of course, Tasuki denies this, asking Tamahome as to how he could think his comrade is afraid of something as simple as water. This makes Tamahome doubt him more and thus decides to try to find out for sure by hoisting Tasuki over his head and pretending that he is about to throw Tasuki into the water. Truly a hammer, Tasuki panics very much.
