After the failed summoning, due to Amiboshi pretending to be Chiriko, Amiboshi tries to escape but is soon cornered. Miaka intervenes on Amiboshi's behalf; the other Suzaku seishi are preparing to kill Amiboshi. Unfortunately, Amiboshi eventually falls into the swollen river but is saved by Miaka grabbing Amiboshi's flute. Amiboshi smiles, thanks Miaka and then calmly releases the flute to fall to his death.
